Full Description:
Morning Pick Up: We will begin picking up our participants from their hotels.
1st Stop: Prasses Gorge Our journey starts as we head the wildness and high altitudes where you have a helicopter view of one of the magnificent gorges and a chance to see the vulture, which are now an endangered species.
2nd Stop: Potamon Dam As we pass through small traditional villages full of character and interest, we’ll make a brief stop for our guests to take photos of the beautiful scenery at the Potamon Dam.
3rd Stop: Agios Antonios We continue our journey to Patsos Gorge which is located near Agios Antonios. The Gorge is known for its imposing rock faces and interesting features. As you’re enjoying the view you will have some time to enjoy a coffee and try our local drink which is Raki.
4th Stop: Spili You will be impressed by the Village of Spili. It’s the most famous for it’s spring water, over 50 lion head fountains have cold mountain water running all year round. You will get the chance to take many pictures of this interesting place.
5th Stop: Kerame We continue along dirt tracks and bumpy roads passing through villages, where the time has virtually stood still. Once we pass the village of Kerame you’ll see the panoramic view of the southern Cretan coast and the Libyan sea.
6th Stop: Preveli Beach & Lunch *Walking shoes are required to reach the beach of Preveli* After all the dirt and dust a swim would be a very good idea! Preveli is know for one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Its tall palm trees and crystal clear water were even chosen to advertise Bacardi on television. It is the only beach where guests can swim in cold mountain water or ocean water in the same place. As we walk back from the Beach we will stop for a traditional Cretan meal with unlimited wine.
7th Stop: Kourtaliotiko Gorge On our way back to from lunch we climb back up into the mountains for more dramatic scenery, and more photos as we drive through the Kourtiliotiko Gorge
End of the Tour: We’ll start getting back from Preveli and we’ll bring our participants back to their hotels.
