Mount Giouchtas is a protected Natura 2000 area with exceptional beauty and high biodiversity, but it was also an important religious site for the Minoan Civilization
The hike is considered challenging due to the elevation gain and it's steepness at some parts.
It offers some of the most breathtaking views of central Crete
The mountain is also natural habitat for vultures and other animals that we see during the hike
It is about 7.5km long and it is a loop trail
After the hike you will have free time to visit the traditional village of Archanes
